Digital PhotographyTop-Rated Digital Quality I shoot with Fuji S3 and S2 cameras. They produce 12.3 and 6.1 (respectively) megapixel files. They are well-regarded in the industry for producing clean images files with very accurate skin tones. I regularly produce up to 20 x 30 inch prints and they look stellar! I also shoot all my commercial jobs with these cameras! Check out my latest shoots on the Commercial/Editorial pages for sample galleries from these cameras. I use only top-of-the-line Nikon lenses on my Fuji cameras. These lenses include the 12-24 f4, 17-35 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 VR (vibration reduction) and the 24-120 VR lenses. Image files are retouched in PhotoShop. I am an expert PhotoShop user and attend seminars and workshops to keep my skills up-to-date. Printing is handled by a professional lab specializing in custom printing of wedding & portrait images. Prints are traditional "silver-based" technology - just like prints from film! Enlargements are then sprayed with protective lustre UV-inhibiting coating ~ your images have archival quality. I spent one year (2003) shooting digital side-by-side with film to compare the outcome. I (and my clients) have been blown away! In addition, I've been able to shoot higher quality images under low-light conditions. In the past that meant a high-speed film and - honestly - there was not a film on the market capable of the task. The low-light photography I'm producing with these Fuji's is simply amazing. I just showed some to a photographer shooting Nikons and he said he can't come close to the same level of low-noise image quality! Add to that the Vibration Reduction lenses I've invested in and you're talking the best quality of images available! Q: My friend's wedding photographer lost all the image files. What do you do differently? A: Trust me! I've heard and read these stories, too! I spent all of 2003, studying digital, attending workshops and seminars for all manner of digital concerns including the business aspect, digital capture, exposure, studio lighting, location lighting and digital workflow - BEFORE actually shooting professional jobs. I continue to attend these. In 2005, I'm scheduled for five digital photography seminars, including Digital Wedding Photography in March. In 2004, I produced all but one of my shoots digitally! This included advertising shoots, portraits and weddings! And, nope...didn't lose even one image! I also teach digital photography at Colorado Mountain College! I've been teaching photography there since '95! What that means for you is the confidence that I have a workflow that is safer than film. In the past, I shipped film off to two different labs, one local and one AirBorne Express. Now...I never, ever lost a roll of film, but when I compare the potential for loss to that of digital...Whew...
